These HIV Management Guidelines were first developed in 1998 by local infectious diseases experts with the launch of the Aid for AIDS Disease Management Programme. The aim was to provide an evidence-based comprehensive guide to HIV management in Southern Africa for all healthcare professionals responsible for the care of people living with HIV and AIDS.

The Guidelines are now in their 10th edition and remain an up to date source of information which reflects current best practice in the treatment of HIV infection including the use of antiretrovirals, and the management of common opportunistic infections, both in adults and children.

In order to further improve these Guidelines, Aid for AIDS welcomes feedback from users.
